As a child growing up in the 1960s, cowboys and ‘the wild west’ impacted everything Mackenzie watched on television and the games he played in the streets of Middlesbrough. The strong visual impact of those days stay with him, and so we get images like this, his own homage to those memories where he revisits with fondness the subject which has had an enduring impact on him to this day. The Searchers remains one of Mackenzie’s favorite movies of all time.
