“Because life is that much sweeter when you walk hand in hand with another…” — Mackenzie Thorpe.
Mackenzie has been working on ‘Hand in Hand’ for the past two years through lockdowns and delays. It’s the first time he has used two of his iconic duffel coat figures together in a sculpture, and he feels he was influenced by the pandemic and wanted to capture the fact that life is much sweeter when you walk hand in hand with one another. Sculpted by Mackenzie, then cast in bronze with rich patina red hearts and set on a black granite base, ‘Hand in Hand’ symbolizes what is important in life – love and togetherness.
