Frederick Hart’s Christ: The Alpha and the Omega Suite is a pair of sculptures cast in bronze and clear acrylic resin. The sculptures depict Jesus Christ, with one sculpture showing him as the Alpha, the beginning of all things, and the other showing him as the Omega, the end of all things. After reading the Book of Revelation, Hart was inspired to create the sculptures which describe Jesus as the Alpha and the Omega. He wanted to create sculptures that would capture the power and majesty of Christ, as well as his love and compassion for humanity.

Christ: The Alpha, Hart has poignantly depicted God as the Alpha, the Beginning. The medium of bronze, with its rich, earthy patina, conveys the concept of beginnings–the raw, powerful, primordial awareness of mortal life. We understand it at the very essence of our humanness because it is indeed our own life journey.
Christ: The Omega, Hart brilliantly depicts God as the Omega, the End. The interplay of light rhythms within and without the sculpture conveys a mystery far beyond words. Christ as God, infinite, eternal, in the spiritual form.

Christ: The Omega is Frederick Hart’s last clear acrylic resin work and his last embedded work to be released. Christ: The Alpha is the penultimate bronze of Hart’s oeuvre.
