The Things We Do For Love

Alexandra Nechita
The Things We Do For Love, Monumental, 2009.
Large-scale, original bronze sculpture.
Signed at the base.

Nechita is very passionate about public art. In the Summer of 2005, Nechita presented her massive 16-foot tall bronze monument entitled “Let There Be Peace” to the people of Singapore, which is permanently housed in the sculpture garden at the National Museum of Singapore.

Most recently, in the Spring of 2021, Nechita donated Love Anatomy, a 9ft bronze sculpture, to the city of Beverly Hills that sits on the corner of Rexford and Burton Way. Welcoming visitors as they drive down Burton Way, the impressionable work of art undoubtedly comes at a time when the city could use an inspiring symbol of unity. On the horizon, Nechita is planning to share a mural on the iconic corner of Hollywood and Highland in partnership with The Hollywood Partnership and Arts Bridging The Gap.

These are just some of the accolades she has received in her 25-year career as an artist. Her work has always reflected an expression of personal sentiments- that intimacy and storytelling continue to be the prism through which she navigates her creative vocabulary.
