Mei Nelson

Mei H. Nelson was born in 1978 in Israel. She is a self-taught painter who was raised by a family of artists. Growing up in the Yafo area of Tel Aviv, the world of design solely captured her

eyes. Nelson’s art is a minimalist color field balanced by the visual sound of interlaced marks of layered color and form. She allows the composition and color placement to create a feeling of stillness and motion, expressing her personal experiences in a language where emotion speaks through paint.

My art expresses my mind, language, and imagination through the honest narrative of my life. “No rules, no philosophy, no mistakes. Just art.” The inspiration flows from people, my travels around the world, and their cultures. This all contributes to who I am. – Mei Nelson.
