DeVon Stanfield is a rising figure in contemporary pop art whose bold mixed-media works channel the spirit of giants of the art world, such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, Robert Indiana, Robert Rauschenberg, and Jackson Pollock. From Duchamp to Damien Hirst, these artists have consistently challenged the idea that meaning ascribed to objects is permanently fixed. Influenced by Steve Kaufman, who worked with Andy Warhol,  his art draws on cultural icons, comic-book references, celebrity profiles, and vintage pop culture imagery.
